The Puggle Breeder
Temperament
The Puggle is an adorable cross between a Pug and a Beagle. The result is a very happy, loveable dog who is playful and easy to train. Puggles are extremely affectionate towards people and other dogs. I have never known an aggressive Puggle, or one which has turned out to be a handful.
They are fantastic with children and loyal to the family. Puggles have the instincts of a Beagle but with none of the re-call problems, so are easy to train for those walks in the park or even shopping on Bond street. Puggles can be taken everywhere, as they are often admired and behave in every situation. They can also relax when you want some down time and my Puggle is often found curled up on my lap or joining my girlfriend and I for a coffee!
Upkeep
Puggles need a minimum of one hour’s exercise a day. They can walk all day though, but as they are part Pug it is not necessary. Puggles are happy in the city, as they are a family dog, which is adaptable to any environment. If you are thinking about getting a Puggle the main thing that you need is a lot of love to give. My clients take their Puggles on holiday with them, shopping, out to dinner and to gatherings of family and friends.
Training
Puggles are as quick to learn as a Beagle, but do not have the same training issues as they are crossed with a Pug. Re-call is an easy lesson for a Puggle to learn, as is walking on the lead and commands around the house. It is possible to house train a Puggle puppy within two weeks.
Health
As the Puggle is a cross-bread they tend to have very few health problems. This is because crossing breeds makes a dog more resilient and adds to its life span.
